My husband and I exploring the storybook city of Edinburgh, Scotland, while pregnant with our first son.

I have always loved to read.

With a decade of experience as a dedicated public school educator in Frederick County Public Schools, I so love nurturing young minds to become strong writers and confident readers.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education and a Master's degree in Education Leadership, along with a minor in Music. With a particular knack for curriculum and catering it to the individual student, my background in these fields allows me to create engaging, innovative learning environments that aim to inspire my students to learn and enjoy the written word.

Throughout my career, I have developed a variety of teaching methods allowing me to suit the uniqueness of a student’s needs, as I believe the formal classroom is not for everyone. Every child has the potential to express themselves powerfully through words, and I strive to empower them with the skills they need to articulate their thoughts and ideas confidently.

Beyond my professional life, I am deeply committed to my faith and love leading worship at my church. Family is incredibly important to me as well; I am the proud parent of an 11-month-old son, with — at time of writing — another little one on the way! When the baby’s asleep, I enjoy reading (can you believe that?), singing at my piano, testing a new Pinterest recipe, or indulging in any British period drama I can find.

My goal is to inspire your young writers or readers to embrace their creativity and develop a lifelong love of learning. I can’t wait to partner with you!
